what i have been told  they are looking at july,  this will be dependent on China though
as  you know China are still in covid lockdown and there is thousands of ships just at anchor.

if your able to hold off mate, you will enjoy the 65l  gen4  and it will give you will be able to do bigger grain bills
then the 3.1.1

i have seen the 65l bz gen4  brewing   in action  at kegland and  while i have the bz35l gen4
i am very happy  with them

the wait will be worth it  in my thoughts  and i am looking to purchase 1 myself

however though if you got the itchy fingers and want to go the 65l bz 3.1.1  ditch  the overflow pipe and purchase the pro screen
the overflow pipe  is not needed  ,  the  gen4's  dont have the overflow pipe

Ok @ozdevil, not sure what way I will go yet.

‘Cheers for the info on the overflow pipe.

Nice one IC. Hope you’re feeling better mate.
BTW I want to ask you about a beer you did with a quite high % of carapils to see how that turned out. Hopefully it wasn’t too many beers ago🤣??

No stress if you can’t remember, I was just interested in that idea…

Cheers 🍻

This is not a brew but it was a brew fridge & is about to become a kegerator of sorts. It has served me well, the old man bought it in 1990 & it's still going strong. I have defrosted, cleaned & de-shelved it, it is now awaiting it's fate. 🍻

Now I have to convert another fridge for a ferment fridge.

How do you find the hop spider AK? I'm 50/50. It could potentially block and reduce your hop utilization, but if you go naked it causes other problems with blockages.

Hey @Pale Man I notice you brew in the bag, is that a preference over the plates etc, I am assuming that is a Brewzilla not another type with the cover ? Looks good anyway.

I have a Brewzilla Philster. The reason i have alfoil over the system is because i inexplicably smashed the lid about a month ago.

I blame my dog, she cant argue back. But yeah it was my fault. Another lid on order from Kegland.

I started out with brew in a bag. A big pot and a bag bag for all grain. It taught me so much about all grain brewing. Just didnt have a lot of control over gas. And the gas expensive was not flash.

I'm ok with it. I have another one which came with the Guten and it is absolute rubbish but this one seems ok. However it does take a couple of minutes to empty out, depending on the amount of hops used. I do pull it out and dip it back into the wort like a teabag though 🙂 I'd like something like @Shamus O'Sean made. That looks really cool and with the right strainer bag, should not hinder any hop utilisation.

🤪🤪🤪 - The old Digiboil in the Brewzilla Jacket trick.  I fall for it every time.

Good luck with the 65L Brewzilla.  It is on my radar too.

actually   some also go the mashtun and false bottom and buy a magnetic external pump  to recirculate  the wort  with the digiboils specially now  that you can buy an kettle extender and a much bigger mashtun to suit the  bz 35 and digiboil Kettle extender

its also possible with the  bz65l and 65l digiboil

i've got 1st dibbs on the 65l gen 4 😉😂😂

Regarding my home-made hop spider, I have only used it once and have not tasted the resultant beer yet.  Therefore, the jury is still out.  Having said that it seemed to work fine.

I use a 10 litre paint strainer bag with it.  It is just held onto the PVC fitting with an elastic band.  Previously, I used the bag with the opening closed and a bulldog clip holding it to the side of the kettle.  It was awkward to remove and do multiple hop additions.  The home-made one should make multiple hop additions much easier.  On my first use, I just had the single boil hop addition in the brew.  The brew had a hop steep addition, but I do that in another bag with the top opened and bulldog clipped to the rim of the kettle.  I just sat the hop spider inside the hop steep bag.  It is a bit hard to see the detail through the condensation on the lid, but you get the idea in the photo.

IMG_2958.JPG.287710e0984478d4fed6264b34c40928.JPG

By the way, later after I removed the spider and put the lid back on, I turned my back and the lid fell off a.k.a. @Pale Man.  Although it landed on the concrete garage floor, it stayed in one piece.

Quick brew day today I completed the David Heath Philly Sour Recipe today really easy with a 30 minute boil swapped the centennial hops for warrior. Couple of points down but all good for my health plus it was a full volume mash. Had this yeast in the fridge for a while should be interesting.

Christmas has come early and the postman brought me a new toy (cost me 50ChF in import duties mind…) Guinness clone coming up!

Best put the thinking cap on to assemble the hopper, would want to try that under the influence
