Aussiekraut
Today, I planned a Hefe Weizen but mid brew day, I went inside to get a cuppa and when I came back out, the assistant brewer had taken over operations in an apparent coup de chienne. Not sure what she decides to make 4

Classic Brewing Co
BOTTLING OF MY FIRST AG BREW I just bottle the American Pale Ale, my first AG Brew smelt & looked like beer & finished bang on 1.010. In a couple of weeks or so I will tell what I think of AG Brewing. 8

Did you cold crash or add any fining agents? Very impressive filling levels in the Grolshies. They all look identically filled. 2 1

Cheers Shamus, I am also anxious to see the result in spite a few minor first time blues but I thought it was nice & clear as well. I didn't add Finings or CC but left it in the FV for a few extra days, the only thing I added was 1/2 Wirflock tablet at last 5mins of the boil. I do try to get the same levels in the in bottles, if you have a system it's not hard. 3

I am planning a 12% IIIPA soon, with a reiterated mash. The idea of doing the first mash overnight is appealing, from a time perspective on the main brew day.

I am running low on beer and I work 12 hour shifts. So I set the water to 50c overnight, so I could heat to mashing temp before work. I then set my Crown to 60c incase the temp dropped too much. And boiled when I got home. It still smelt like a stout when the boil was on so hopefully okay

Is it me or is that malt pipe too small for the kettle. I'm not familiar with the machine.

No it’s just you. This is the smallest Braumeister kettle so the malt pipe fits approx 3kg grain max. It’s designed to be compact and for small batches.

As long as it makes good beer is all that matters.

kmar92
Back in May 2020 I did a Coopers ROTM - Belgian Chocolate Stout https://www.diybeer.com/au/recipe/belgian-chocolate-stout.html, and I was impressed with the result. So thinking about getting a stout down now that we are heading into the cooler months and having the ingredients I thought that I would try it again. Compared to the original Coopers recipe I just changed a couple of things: I swapped out the 1kg LDME for a 1.5kg Coopers LME tin of goop, I upped the vanilla essence somewhat and I used Nottingham instead of the S-33, + the 7g Coopers yeast with the Devil's Half Ruby Porter. OG was 1.060. It is in the ferment fridge @ 19° at present. Original finished Belgian Chocolate Stout from a couple of years ago and the new version in the ferment fridge hopefully beginning its ferment, fermenter krausen ring in place as from memory the 1st of these I did wanted to climb out of the fermenter (the yellow in the fermenter is the RAPT Pill which is now reporting to Brewfather via a webhook)..
