We went for our final walk together this morning and our final visit to the vet this afternoon.

My heart is well and truly broken. Not even beer is making me feel better.

Rest in peace Scooby. 💔

I really feel the need to give you a big hug Muzzy, just for you and also for you to pass it on to the rest of the family.  My wife and I feel for you at this time – we’ve been there and done that and we know it hurts.

In years to come you and your family will grin, then smile and even laugh at some of the memories/antics and things that Scooby did and got up to in the past.  Talk about them and enjoy all those moments when they come back to you Muzzy, it’s worth it.

RIP Scoobe’s.

So sad to hear, Muzzy.  I bet you had a good chat on that walk.

My heart is still broken for losing Scooby but I always promised myself I'd save another shelter dog as soon as possible. These beautiful creatures don't deserve to be locked up.

So today we welcomed a new boy into our house named Moose. It was the name the AWL gave him so we're sticking with it. He's approximately 2 years old but his history is a mystery as he's a street kid, as was Scooby before we got her.

An update on the artist formerly known as Moose. We had a family meeting and decided he was too skinny to be a moose, so we've renamed him Barrie, after my boyhood and also adulthood hero, Barrie Robran.
For those of you not up with Australian rules football, Robran was one of the greatest players of all time.

Thanks Phil. Being a street kid before he was taken to AWL he still has much to learn but he's settling in well.
He's already sitting on command. Toilet training and food manners are taking a little longer to teach.

I am sure you will conquer it Muzzy, I haven't had a dog since I was a kid but I was always away playing golf, darts, running a gym & there was the Army followed by working as a salesman & then a travelling salesman for most of my working life so I never had the opportunity as I was away a lot. These days I am happy to punt along by myself but I socialise a lot so all is good.

Young Barrie is learning new things every day.

We haven't had any toilet mishaps inside for a few days, which is an improvement from his first days with us, but I think the lawn is too wet at the moment because he's left a few surprises for Mrs Muzzy outside the laundry door instead of using the grass.🤦‍♂️

He's not in triple Magarey medal class as his namesake yet but he's getting better. Two steps forward, one step back progress.😁
