I was overshooting because my Brewhouse Efficiency was too low.  Lately, I set it to 76% and get pretty close with the final numbers.

That also helps with the numbers SOS and my 23 L single batches have averaged 75.8% BHE.  Mine is set at 76% also so that's the base I use for my 70 L Nano equipment.  The Coopers premium malt was a new grain that I have not used before so the Coopers specs entered into Brewfather were obviously a tad too far out of reach for me.

Amarillo, Willamette, Nelson Sauvin and Galaxy but unsure of the schedule so I just had a crack.

I'd go the Styrian for bittering and the Amarillo late, but you could easily get 18 ibu from all flameout and have more flavour, having said that 150 does not have flavour

But you are a Fridgie-King aren't you @JoeB7 JB?

Question for your - your help please 🙏

I have an upright freezer - that has fixed shelves with coolant running through it - I did use it for lagering bottles in milk crates - but am thinking my dear ancient old mum could use it...

I need to drive it on up there a good few hours away - can I lie it down in the back of the station wagon on its side - then when I get there lift it back up - leave it stand 24 hours or overnight - and then fire it up ok?

I just cannot transport it upright...

It is probably 20 years or more old...

Your help please? @JoeB7

You've probably done it by now mate but that's the tried & trusted method from the old days of flatmating it

Do you ever harvest and re-use Yeast, or go back on an old yeast-cake @beach_life Comber?

Or do you stick to new yeasties, of the dry and liquid varieties, pray tell Braumeister? 👍

Ah and yes -- nice looking brewhaha with that lovely bit of Bavarian Secale cereale 😆

What does this Brown fellow add to the brew - what characteristics... besides colour maybe?

Umm, brown?

It's used in porters and gives porter to a porter.

I am not even sure that was the grain, it was unlabelled and I cannot work it out

And the second mash is underway.. this will be a Bitsa Pale Ale, because I had to empty a few grain containers to top them up with fresh grains. This is made up of Voyager Veloria, Weyermann Premium Pilsner, Bestmalz Red X and Barrett Burston Wheat. I’ll use Azacca hops and Verdant IPA yeast. Might be an interesting concoction 😀
