Otto Von Blotto
At least Stella is better than iron jack or great northern pisswater. 1

The Captain!!
Goose Island IPA on tap. Much better than the ones I had in the bottles a while back. I’m getting to a point in my beer evolution that crystal malt really needs to be with a light hand in these sort of beers.

I've had a few of these & quite like it. 22 minutes ago, The Captain!! said: ...I’m getting to a point in my beer evolution that crystal malt really needs to be with a light hand in these sort of beers. I put you in a similar basket to Ben 10 (& others) in that the interpretation of the IPA you generally brew derives a smaller percentage of the IBU count from back-end, long boiled hop addition(s). You allow a good whack of your count to come from very late additions & whirlpool etc. Nothing wrong with that btw. However, it makes for a very different character at the glass than a more traditionally back-end bittered IPA. These beers are quite bitter & a good dose of crystal malt(s) often creates a lovely full malt flavour that compliments the aggressively forward & bitter hopping profiles of traditional IPA's. Ben 10 has a little brewing experiment going on this front atm. I already know what I want from an IPA, but it will still be interesting to hear from Ben on the two slightly different hop scheduled IPA's he is currently brewing once they are taste tested side-by-side by him in the glass. Keep your eyes posted for that. Cheers, Lusty.

Personally, I'm a fan of both approaches to IPA at the same time. Big bitterness, big flavour (flameout) additions and big aroma (dry hop) additions. When it comes to hops in IPAs, more is more! The Captain!!
Modus Operandi Kviek IPA. Aroma is fantastic. Pineapple, mango. Super dry finish, think the yeast is scrubbing a bit of flavour though.

Shamus O'Sean
Black Heart Brewery (Brighton, Vic) - Saison - My reward after bottling my All Grain Oatmeal Stout Good strong funky underlying fruity flavour. Highly carbonated. Complex flavour, spicy, malty, zesty tart sourness Unfortunately when I Googled the brewery, it appears to have shut down.
Hilltop hops
After a couple of dry weeks due to work commitments grabbed a sixer of the new Coopers XPA this arvo. Going down a treat, think it will be a great summer drop.

RepSpec
Posse pack turned up the other day... This is a cracker of a beer. Perfect for summer days I'd imagine. Very similar to their "mayday hills table sour" Great hit of fruit salad and sourness to suit the style. Very drinkable
RepSpec
Today's sample from bridge road... Single hop IPA Ella variety. Seems this is the hop I was chasing that they seem to use in lots of their beers. Great beer, super clean and a great hop flavour!
