Does yeast nutrient really make a big difference? never used any, so I am curious

In my opinion it does especially in AG brews, some would say it is not necessary, but it has its place,

What is yeast nutrient and what does it do?
Yeast nutrient composition generally varies between products, but they do similar things. In homebrewing, yeast nutrient will help the yeast complete the fermentation of your beer, especially high gravity ones. Yeast nutrient generally includes diammonium phosphate, zinc, amino acids, and vitamins and nutrients.

Ah that makes me feel a little better, it would be horrid if we ran out. Nothing worse than getting invited to a mate's house & he has got bugger all to drink.

Good one Hoppo, I am still driving, looking forward to it 🙃

One day when the taphouse is up and running you all will be invited to kick it off.

Of course the IPA keg just blew after one glass haha, time for a Lager.

IPL with Mosaic and Sabro late! No dry hop didn’t really like it initially but it’s growing on me! The beer is full flavoured though with well over a kilo of Munich light in the grist and mixture of Pilsner and Pale ale malt! It didn’t have an early bittering hop maybe that’s where it’s confusing me!

Coopers APA

A bit cloudy, messed up the pour, but a bootiful drop. Apart from the 6 longnecks. and the slab for the neighbour’s son, there’s a keg waiting patiently

Great stuff Sainter. I’m glad the kegs are patient, perhaps the operator less so?😉

Did you culture a CCA yeast for that one?

Cheers

Patience is a virtue that seems to have passed me by 😂

I knocked up a CCA from 6 stubbies and this brew was the second batch from it. I only make up about 600ml (about half a PET bottle), so I’m a bit confused about other fellas mentioning 3 or 4 litre starters….

I have a Vintage 22 that’s been on the go for 3 weeks but the air lock is still active. I’ve got to bottle it at some point ( not a kegger that one). That’s generation #3 of the same CCA.

The CCA works a treat IMHO, thanks Coopers!
