Nothing fancy can barely notice the Citra hops and low body beer. Probably normal for a 4.5% and not a horrible beer.  Just expected more

I have had that a few a few times from Dan's, didn't think it was too bad for the price, but it is lacking body I reckon.

When you put it like that Classic $12 a 4 pack $3 a can it's OK. I have been wanting to try it for about 8 years.

I either get side tracked and get something else or they don't have it. Got some other stuff as well to try over weekend.

Yes, the price is OK but for value some of the other deals around actually give you more, this Lager is nice $14.00 for 4 x 500ml cans from BWS works out @ $3.50 a can but more beer. From time to time you can get cans for around $2.00 a can but unless they are actually brand name beers, not Pinnacle Drinks they are pretty awful.

I bought a carton of 24 x 440ml cans of Coopers Pale Ale today for $55.00, works out to $2.29 a can & much better beer.

When I was working full time & making good money on the road working for myself selling nothing mattered but as I am retired a bargain now & again doesn't go astray.

Interesting. I've tried that many times and to me it has a very prominent hop character. There is a clone of that in the Coopers recipe section, Battleship Bitter I think it's called.

I just cracked open a can of Coopers Best Extra Stout that has been sitting in my fridge for a couple of months.  Now I am not really a dark beer drinker but have brewed an AG version of Toohey's old and a couple of Coopers K&K recipes of the month based on Innkeepers Daughter cans (sparkling tonic ale I think it was) and they were good but still unconvinced if I should have a crack at an AG stout.

Problem is I do like a Guinness or two out of the tap so would be happy to give an AG version of that a go and if anyone like @stquinto (for example) that has brewed one and has a clone recipe they can point me to, it would be appreciated.

Back to the Coopers Best Extra Stout, unsure if its me or not but it does not seem to have any hop aroma or other aroma that I can define other than its smells just like a heavy/dark beer/stout.  So I cannot pick what's in it; plus its a bit heavy on the ABV for me but that seems to balance out with the IBU of 44 and so it's OK for a nightcap being so late in the evening and all.  Maybe I am just not a stout person and draw the line at porters, who knows.

Stone and wood.

Jasper, hazy pale, dry irish stout, raspberry oaked sour, diablo ginger beer, and a hazy IPA with new release hops.
All good beverages, would drink all again. The beer with new hops was pretty full on

Also went to saopbox - had their rice lager and a beer negroni which was full on

That's pretty much how a stout should work - solid bitterness from the hops and all about the dark malts

Weihenstephaner Hefe Weissbier.

My first attempt at a traditional, inverted glass pour (I've had the beer before but only recently read about the technique)

A fair amount of foam went into the sink but the marker on the back indicated that I didn't waste too much beer.

Weihenstephaner Hefeweissbier Dunkel

I watched a couple of YouTube videos and was more successful at the second attempt.

Weihenstephaner Dunkel

Not a Weissbier, standard pour, standard glass

Hey @Pints How's the kids going, ya just gotta look after the little ones.  Don't give a bugger about you as the Guinness would have taken care of that part of the equation. Nah only kidding man! Are you OK too bloke?

Have to be honest not sure I'd ever tried a traditional porter. Not much body and stronger ABV compared to a Guiness stout ETC.

Taste like more roast barley? less chocolate malt? who knows but it's still ok i may read the bottle description tomorrow 🍻

"Think you know what a porter is? Me neither.

Studying the history of porter is like staring into the multidimensional universe of theoretical cosmology, with multiple shifting parallel worlds constantly warping and shifting with the flow of time. The more you try to pin it down, the more it wriggles free and becomes something unexpectedly different. Naturally, this makes for much fun."

Yeah mate u right it changes all the time so go with the flow. I'm actually a person who appreciates history.

My grandparents hate changing history. The way I see it is as long as it's not every 10 minutes we always discover more digging things up.
