Malter White
After a scorching day in Adelaide yesterday and exhausted from work, I unshackled the wife from the kitchen and gave her the night off cooking. Ducked into the Highbury Hotel in the north east suburbs and took advantage of their $20 pint and parmi deal (translation for eastern states: schooner and parma deal). The photo isn't my dinner, it's a snapshot from their website. However the lady in it did serve us and she's an absolute delight. I actually had a Cooper's Pale Ale. Bonus was I ordered a cider separately for the wife and I drank the Pale from her parmi deal. Extra bonus was they poured me an imperial pint on the second one. What cost of living crisis? $20!!! Funny ya say that, coz my beat @Beerdo is if ya had the Pint 'n Parmi deal, @Malter White (AKA Slippery) was probably up at the bar gettin ya wife a trade-in pony of cider for her pint of Pale Ale He's hard to spot, but he's everywhere - all the time - its like there's two of him - just sayin' ...

Not Mick but thought I would chime in on account of the canned beet shortages. Normally I grow it, cook it, skin it and pickle our own but last year did not plant any out as we we going to be away for 10 weeks or so. I just buy the cooked Aussie beets from Woolies (in fresh veg section) and then slice them up and pickle a couple of jars full at a time. Easy done and ready pretty much overnight. jennyss
Pizza night! A Mexican twist with tomato paste and mozzarella cheese on the bottom, then leftover chilli con carne (mince, 4 bean mix, tomatoes, spices), then mushroom, capsicum, avocado, olives, fetta cheese and more mozzarella - so sophisticated and yummy! ps the bottles are washed empties, waiting to have the labels peeled off and be put back in the cupboard until their next outing.
