Another commercial one. A Premium Pilsen made in Belèm at the mouth of the Amazon River to the taste of the Cariocas    (inhabitants of Rio de Janeiro). Advertised as made with the clean waters of the Amazon region I would have given it 7.5/10, but after reading the label and finding out  that it contains corn, antioxidants and stabilisers it drops to 2/10 as it actually doesn’t taste too bad. I like the label so

Cervejaria  Baden Baden is located in Campos do Jordaõ (Saõ Paulo) and prides itself as being one of the pioneers of craft beer in Brazil. Before they got bought by Ambev they supposedly produced some nice beers.
Unfortunately I bought some and tried two so far. The first was a “Peach”, a wheat beer made with peach. Loving peach it sounded innovative and yummy, but it really didn’t work, it was horrible. Bitter from the juice concentrate, artificial peach flavour, yuk

The Witbeer was just drinkable and had a weird aftertaste as well. I had far better homebrew than that. Ever going to Brazil I would say, don’t waste your money

@Brauhaus Fritz Looks like a great trip! What is the most popular megaswill for the locals and how much Real does it cost?

It’s Heineken, a 330ml bottle is about 6 Real or about $1.80. Of the original Brazilian brands it’s probably Original, a 600ml bottle puts you back 10 Real, about $3. For New Years Day we bought a twelve pack of Spaten and Bohemia Pure Malt 330ml cans on special, which where about $0.90 a can. Spaten is really popular here too and both are really enjoyable. In the end it is really hard to say, as so many brands are available and the country is so big. Just keep in mind that wages here are much lower, the average monthly wage is 8600 Real, $2500. The minimum wage from which lots of people live from ( or maybe two minimum wages) is 1212 Real, $355. Brazil is a crazy place, one of the richest and one of the poorest countries in the same time with extremely warm and friendly people

New Years Day morning we went to the market and on the way home we stopped at Cousin Caio‘s smoke house. An agronomy engineer in love with meat, smoke and craftbeer he opens only Friday nights, Saturday and Sunday after his weekly full time work at the council chambers.F36FCC87-E567-47C9-BF80-0C82510CA128.thumb.jpeg.b452901e333bea83035739d48eca3905.jpeg

The Everbrew cans where one better than the other. They are also known to add wheat in their brews.

The last one was the most exiting one, a Mexican Imperial Stout, containing cacao nibs, coffee, vanilla, cinnamon and habanero chillies

Don’t want to see Fosters ever again @Classic Brewing Co

I was in Seattle 4 yrs ago and it was everywhere, yanks wanted me to have it. 😳

I politely explained to them that this was a sh*t beer in Australia, & moved onto a Craft Beer W*nker Beer 😂😂😂😂

Working in the UK in the '80's Fosters was on sale in every Pub - twas shizen. Absolutely not a pinch on whatever they were serving up in Oz at the same time. They were two distinctly different beers in my opinion. Working there recently (before Covid) the folklore of Fosters still lingers.....they still think that's all we Aussies drink. 😂.
