What temp to ferment the brew?

Is a question being asked of a few

Now we don't want to scare ya

So can't be much fairer

Than just say 'tepid' will do! biggrin

To our Ramjet, thanks for your view,

was appreciated more than you knew,

yet it seems to me

the celsius to be

could maybe be closer to true.

PB2, would you mind passing this one on to your web developers or Forum Administrators?

There is a problem in the configuration of links within the forums. To demonstrate, take for example this thread. When the thread is opened, the emoticons within the page are trying to download the icons from the generic address http://icon-name/. Obviously, these do not exist as top level domains (TLDs).

To be more specific, here is the rendered source code for one emoticon.

I'd agree with the Canadian (even though at this time of year he has a frozen brain biggrin! Sorry, Eh!L, just kidding)

The way I've settled that works for me, at least, is to always make the LDM the very first ingredient to put in the dry fermenter. I then mix half tap water and half just-boiled water (for 500g LDM it's a total of 2 litres, for 1 kg LDM its 3 litres) in a container, and pour it all into the fermenter in one go. Then, I pick up the fermenter and swirl it quite vigorously for about 15 to 30 seconds and find that it gets all dissolved without clumping every time. Remember, LDM first, and then hot water.

I'm sure I saw a video of PB2 doing it somewhere, and it really works a treat (but I can't find the link for it at the moment. Sorry.)

The relevant anonymised line from a Squid proxy log is:

1391664986.571 1 XXX.XXX.XXX.5 TCP_MISS/503 4132 GET http://biggrin/ - FIRSTUP_PARENT/YYY.YYY.YYY.146 text/html

I've noted further down the page code there is this script section:

$(document).ready(function() {

$('img[src=http://alien]').attr('src','http://www.coopers.com.au/static/lbforum/scripts/markitup/sets/bbcode/images/cus_alien.gif');

$('img[src=http://alien]').attr('src','http://www.coopers.com.au/static/lbforum/scripts/markitup/sets/bbcode/images/cus_alien.gif');

$('img[src=http://annoyed]').attr('src','http://www.coopers.com.au/static/lbforum/scripts/markitup/sets/bbcode/images/cus_annoyed.gif');

$('img[src=http://bandit]').attr('src','http://www.coopers.com.au/static/lbforum/scripts/markitup/sets/bbcode/images/cus_bandit.gif');

$('img[src=http://biggrin]').attr('src','http://www.coopers.com.au/static/lbforum/scripts/markitup/sets/bbcode/images/cus_biggrin.gif');

$('img[src=http://cool]').attr('src','http://www.coopers.com.au/static/lbforum/scripts/markitup/sets/bbcode/images/cus_cool.gif');

.....

$('img[src=http://wink]').attr('src','http://www.coopers.com.au/static/lbforum/scripts/markitup/sets/bbcode/images/cus_wink.gif');

});

but this isn't being executed properly.

Cheers

Phil

You may remember a few of us dropped off the old site a bit whe it first opened, then i bought apple products and lost coopers altogether. (Except the beer n homies)

Site is easy to navigate and isnt hard on the eyes to read!

Im happy!

:)

P.s. The forum was the hardest thing to read n navigate on the old site.... This one is great!

Cheers

Matt

P.p.s. Far out, this sight has been operating since december!

I need too check my emails more often!

On the old guild forum, a poster used to be able to link directly to a specific post on the forum.

i.e. Post #24 in a specific thread. The number alongside that post had it's own address that corresponded to its unique position within the thread, & spot on the forum.

I always found it handy when attempting to relay previously discussed information to a forum poster asking certain questions. Currently with the new forum, the best you can do is link to the beginning of a thread. That's all well & good if you want to read the entire thread, but some threads have pages & pages & pages of posts, so it is a little cumbersome & awkward to provide a link to relevant information if in the process the person following the link has to sift through many pages, & read lots of unrelated dialogue to reach the point of relevance.

I hope something can be done to re-introduce this handy aspect of accessing information on the forum.

Cheers,

Anthony.

Don't know if I missed it, but is there a way to find posts that I made??? couldn't find anywhere in the dashboard where I can search "my posts" etc. I tried normal search within each section, but with with a name such as crisp, it returns a lot of results

You click on your name next to a post and then click on 'view all Crisp's posts' at the bottom.

It could be legit but, like you, I have a very high index of suspicion about these things. On Monday, I would ring up Coopers (only relying on the info on Contact page of the Coopers website) to check.

If its true, well done you lucky bast#@%! If not, well handled!

Thanks Antiphile will ring coopers monday just thought strange that coopers wouldnt contact me first will try to confirm with them before contact other people. I have never won anything no matter how small a free hundred bucks would be nice to spend on a craftbrewer order.

G'day, I didn't know the old guild? site so it was all new to me when I turned up, I've been crawling around the web since the early nineties, please listen to your forum users!

Hi PB2

It would be good if forum members were able to specify their location ' date=' as in the old site,

so as everyone knows where they are writing from.

I know there are many readers from continental Europe, UK, North America, NZ as well as from all the states of Australia.

Having this knowledge would enable contributors to craft their replies by knowing where the queries originated from.[/quote']

REMEMBER+ME+_b9bf3632d1cc4fc7bf725ed34ff146d5.gif

+1000

My biggest gripe is definitely "the newest post last bug"' date=' makes it really hard to refer back to posts, when writing a new one, especially when there are many replies.[/quote']

I haven't been posting lately...just been hanging off hoping the site will be improved or fixed.

Has anything changed or is it still painful sad

A very sad run of events...It could turn a man to drink unsure

If you don't remember them, they may forget you? Is there anybody out there?
