Footscray's changed a lot since I spent time around there 30 years ago. That was just an entree for us. We were celebrating a 40th and kicked on back at the house.

Classic Brewing Co
How clear is this Heineken, absolutely stunning. Filtered beers always amaze me as they can look insipid yet so much body & taste.
Aussiekraut
Sitting in a place called Beer House, specialising in “living” beers, meaning unfiltered and unpasteurised. So just what we do. They make German and Czech inspired beers. This is a Märzen. The cool thing is that there is a guy behind the counter boiling wort. It smells like brew day at home

Classic Brewing Co
OK Guys & Gals, listen to this: BWS currently have a special on their Guinness Draught 440ml cans - 1/2 price, they are $3.00 each, the limit is 4 per day per person. Naturally I bought 4. What a wonderful drink, my neighbour enjoyed them too, it is his shout tomorrow night. 7

Classic Brewing Co
I paid a visit to Pirate Life Brewing, Port Adelaide today https://piratelife.com.au/ what a huge place & well decked out, it was an old wool storage factory for shipping overseas. I totally enjoyed it & their beers are awesome. After a brief tour I scored a few promo items & tried a few of their beers. I will definitely be back as they have a huge range. .

Classic Brewing Co
This is a Pirate Life Dark Ale followed by a Hazy XPA, both very nice, the second was the winner. I was given a taste of a couple of stouts, Gingerbread & a Chocolate stout, also very nice. Edited June 15, 2023 by Classic Brewing Co

I was a little disappointed with their IPA, it lacked the hoppy oomph of the pale. I should try it again but without such high expectations. There's a clone kit for the pale that I've got my eye on. From Cheaky Peake IIRC. I need to work my way through some of the kits I've already got first, though.

IMO, the Hazy XPA is way ahead of all of them for hoppiness & flavour.

Kegory
We don't get those super strong ones here @Pints, or, if we do, they are very hard to find.
Classic Brewing Co
I picked up these from BWS for $14.00, it does not disappoint, full of flavour yet light enough to be a session beer. Brewed by Gage Drinks WA. They are normally $19.50 for a 6-pack. Using Australian grown Topaz hops and malt, Stubbie (4.4%) can be best described as falling into the Kolsch category in style, and, from aesthetics to taste, it captures the essence of Australia’s beer drinking heyday circa the 1970s and early 1980s – of Hills Hoists and yards that were actually big enough to warrant needing a lawnmower beer. Pouring a golden straw colour, Stubbie does smell like the beers my dad used to drink, with a classic Aussie lager-like malt-forward aroma of sweet bread crust and spice before a faint flourish of floral hops gives it a touch of the new school. It’s crisp and refreshing and finishes plenty smooth and will no doubt be a hit with those who choose to buy it for a Summer’s day session in the sun.“Stubbie is a Kölsch style beer which means its light in flavour and (high in) drinkability – it’s a style that’s becoming increasingly popular among everyday beer drinkers looking for a fresh take on traditional Aussie beer.

Aussiekraut
The first beer in Stockholm. A Citra and Mosaic hopped Lager. Not bad but I’d like it a little colder. Europeans have a funny idea of cold. I once asked my dad if he had any other warms drinks besides beer 4
