For the record I much prefer my AG brews as this is very ordinary, but there just wasn't time to get one ready. Yes if in a hurry it will come in handy to entertain until get you're own AG stock up.

But don’t ask me to describe it but if I read a Belgian Dubbel definition I get it caramel with ripe banana at the finish or at least the belgian spicy yeast???? The best part of this beer is I made it from scratch including the candy! My neighbour loved it also! He also said my hazy IPA was better than the one at the brewery he attended for lunch today! But this beer i have wanted to make for a while and finally got around to it. The flavour is very complex and the colour is consistent with the colour of the candy! Can’t wait for my dad to try it! Kegory
Yesterday's Taste Test Challenge: 002, Coopers Sparkling Ale, bottled 22/5/23, conditioned 21 days, vs Coopers Brewery Sparkling Ale, a.k.a Coopers Red, Best After 7/8/22. 002, poured 2nd, had a slightly bigger head. Retention was about even but Red left a little lacing, 002 left barely any at all. Red is only the lighter side of gold, 002 is in the deeper side. Red had a good body, good (medium-high) carbonation, and a good mouthfeel. 002 had a good body, less (medium) carbonation, and an ok mouthfeel. Red was bready, malty, somewhat bitter. 002 had some maltiness and some bitterness but also a mild sweetness. 002 was not bad and the chloramine twang had receded but it still seemed to suppress the aromas and some of the flavour.

Kegory
009, Blackbeard Schwarzbeir, bottled 6/9/23, conditioned 18 days, lagered about 7 weeks. This bottle was primed with a medium scoop of brown sugar. I entered a (740ml PET) bottle of this beer in the Bayside Brewers Oktoberfest Competition. It scored 32, 29 & 29 (out of 50). 25-32 = good. This bottle was primed with a medium scoop of white sugar. I also entered a (740ml PET) bottle of this beer in the Oktoberfest Competition). It scored 36, 33, & 39. 33-39 = very good. This bottle was primed with a medium scoop (I think) of dextrose. I didn't enter a bottle of this beer into the Oktoberfest Competition. I'm thinking I should probably put these bottles back into the conditioning cave to see if I can improve their carbonation. Uhtred Of Beddanburg
@Kegory that is the fine line with bottled beer you mentioned about carbonation. Especially with lagers where the cooler the longer is better. But the carbonation may suffer for the taste. I keep saying that I'm going to bottle some beer for all the bottles I collected. But is so much better from the keg. I still need to catch up on stock after rebuild kkeggerator then need to bottle a few batches.

I thought they were good beers, clean fermentation, no off flavours or aromas, but I'm still finding my feet brewing so it was reassuring to get those kinds of comments from the judges.

No. The labels had to be completely covered: competition rules. I reckon they'd have scored triple figures if labels were allowed

That's in SA anyway.

Classic Brewing Co
This is the last bottle of the AG Brewed IPA, I much prefer the kegged version but that has long gone. Better than not having a beer. I will be brewing a AG Pale Ale in a day or to, I must get myself a 5l keg for the brew that doesn't fit in the Corny 19l & then I can eliminate bottling to a degree. I agree with you on the Stouts & Darks etc. but I am going for a portable keg setup in addition to the keg fridge. The cameras in the S23 Ultra are quite spectacular boasting a 200mp rear camera, I have to be careful downloading files as some of the files are 20-30mp. You can also shoot 8k video! https://www.samsung.com/au/smartphones/galaxy-s23-ultra/specs/ Edited November 1, 2023 by Classic Brewing Co
