ozdevil
Hey Guys contemplating nitro are you full nitro or a mix of nitro and co2? do you also carb with your nitro? if i got a full nitro bottle will still have to carb with co2 how much are you paying for your refills? I expect your nitro tanks will last quite awhile as i know nitro is really for specialised brews and for stouts and porters mainly

He might be able to help. No nitro here (yet)

As far as I know & according to this link they are disposable tanks. I suppose another supplier like ElGas could have re-fillable ones. https://www.kegland.com.au/pub/media/catalog/product/cache/3e82cf65a45d0e535a05ebc080f9dec7/k/l/kl01533_-_disposable_gas_cylinder_-_1.43l_-_110bar_nitrogen.png

I've seen some of your pictures of pints of stout ans they look the biz Mine have a bit of a bishops collar on them... I have a couple of cornies of Guinness clone (tastes a beaut) and I also have a small 5 l keg on the go. I seem to get too much of a head after I carbed the 5l with CO2. Can you do the initial carb of the keg with the mix, bearing in mind there's 30% CO2 in it ? I got the impression that if you carbed it up with CO2 first (like a normal beer), then you serve on the 70/30 blend you end with an icecream cone (like mine). Got a VIP coming round, and also having the neighbours round for Paddies day so I don't want let the team down (well, don't want to look like a right a*se, put it that way...)

Hi mate the ones I have done, I initially carbed with co2 and then served on nitro. In saying that I did carb lower than my normal beers with co2 as that I believe is to style. I have made both a stout and a caffreys! I too have a stout on the go in a race to be ready for st pats day (laughing emoji). 1

I've got a cornie of Guinness in the keezer , I think I'll put it on CO2 until Monday (it's set at about 18 PSI for the other kegs). Then I'll put it on the blend. I think I over carbed the 5l keg I pulled the pint in the picture from, it was on CO2 for too long before serving it. I've got another cornie of Guinness in reserve but I'd better get it carbed up too
