MarkC
A friend has had experience with roselle, reckons it's the same thing you see marketed as hibiscus flowers in syrup, which a lady friend loves to deploy in glasses of bubbles. The colour looks lovely, my wife loves saisons, reckon I'll give it a try too.

Beerlust
I've been lucky enough to see this beer in the flesh myself & sample it. It has enormous potential & large scale commercial possibilities (IMHO). With a little more refinement & development it really could be anything. Most impressive. Lusty. Beerlust
Hi guys. Stoking up an old thread, & for good reason. Where the heck is this beer today Ben? I personally think it is worthy of further discussion. Having been lucky enough to sample it, It just lacked a more pronounced aroma to match up with the flavour & amazing colour components of the beer, but other than that, WOW! what a Saison beer. For those that haven't seen the colour alone of this beer by Ben, scroll up. I hope a few that see the above pic like this post enough to give you a 'kick up the bum' to revisit it. Cheers & much respect on this brew of yours, Lusty.
The Captain!!
I’ll post a pic of mine when I get home. Doesn’t have that pink hue like bens did. But will post results anyway.
The Captain!!
So here’s the first pour, I’ll get a better photo when it’s not 8 in the morning Edited June 12, 2019 by The Captain!!
Alpaca Brew
I used a hibiscus concentrate. It has that fake taste to it. The kind of taste you get when you usually drink coke and then try a diet coke. I just ordered 1kg of dried hibiscus flowers and will give it another try. Everyone else likes it, so the good thing is the keg will not last long.

Out of curiosity, what did you hop yours with? Cheers, Lusty.

I figured with the syrup it would be sweet enough. The balance between sweet from the syrup and tart from the hibiscus was right on. It is just that fake taste. Maybe it just me because I don't drink soda any more and it just stands out more.

You can probably throw the same hue without the unwanted sweetness from the syrup based stuff by dropping some of your malt based weights in place of some dextrose that will dry the beer a little to combat that. There are some grains that throw assisting (for a better word) hues without adding excessive sweetness. Maybe a balance can be produced even with the syrup based Rosella flower packaged source in the mix? I fell in love with the colour Benny first produced in that beer & I've seen nothing resembling it in the beer world before or since enough so that I will look to eventually pursue it, & maybe adapt it to different styles of beer. P.S. No wonder everyone in your circle love it. Have a look at it will ya! Someone presents me something that colour in a glass & you bet I'm gonna want to drink it! Cheers, Lusty. The Captain!!
@Beerlust and @Ben 10 Ok so tasting notes on this Kviek rosella beer. I know it’s not a Saison but at least it’s farmhouse. Aroma is guava/raspberry/kiwi fruit? Colour I’m 3/4 the way to where I wanted it. Spritzy! Fresh! Tart! Rosella, Mango, guava, pineapple, grape Its strange and weird and delicious. Wonderfully fresh! im really surprised at this beer. I honestly thought it was going to be a tipper. I want to say thanks again to @Titan for sending me the yeast. (Kviek yeast). I’m blown away by this beer but I think it’s got more to do with how bad I thought it was going to be. ben 10
Sensational, I'd come over for a beer but it is a little too far from here. Obviously some character from the yeast. What temp did you ferment at?
