The more people that drink homebrew the less proffits for the commercial brewries, this will affect "The Company" bottom line, execetives will loose on their stock options, workers will be sacked this will cause social upheavle the government will fall, riots in the street, hordes of barbarians will invade the land, OMG....... sorry what was the question? unsure

Sorry, sorry, I've been drinking too much homebrew......pinched

Hey Matey

On a serious note this is a question that we have discussed in a previous thread, I'll try and find it.

Homebrew, unfiltered, is a different beast to megaswill. Short term effects, homebrew is less harmful, I mean I can drink an equivalent amount of homebrew and say Heineken, the latter will give me a headache in the morning whereas homebrew rarely does.

However there is still alcohol in homebrew, a powerful source of energy and this will cause you to carry extra kg around the midriff if you are not careful. Then there is the question of the number of standard drinks per day that constitutes a danger to your long term health, once again there is a thread on this and the number and size of a standard drink varies from country to country.

Moderation is the key, personally I found homebrew that enjoyable that I modified my approach so that a beer of 4.2% is most often in my upper range. I feel more at ease drinking 4 mid strength beers than I do drinking 4 full strength beers, plus I am hardly ever drunk and in this has to be healthy (or at least safe) in the short term.
