kmar92
Anyone use a hot liquor tank with their AG brew set up, and if so what do you use? With my NANO Biab I am needing up to 20l of sparge water and I am wondering the best way to do that.

Hairy
I use one for sparge water. I used to just heat water in a 20 litre pot onthe stove but now I use an 18l urn from Grainfather. Generally I only need 15-16 litres of sparge water. 1
Marty_G
I use an old 20 litre urn csy me $15 of GumTree. I use as an combined HLT/HERMES set up. Use an InkBird for the temp control. Then use the water for the sparge. 2

I have a ball valve and a temperature well fitted to it. The induction plate is plugged into a Inkbird set to go off at 75°C, my usual sparge temperature. The pot is only good for about 17 litres maximum though. 2
MitchBastard
I purchased a 50L urn off eBay for $120 i think. Goes good! And can double as a BIAB vessel if ever desired. 2

If it was the latter, what do you think of it?

Was a cheapo Chinese job mate. Touch wood it does exactly what I need it too. Heats up at a reasonable pace. Only gripe is that the chord is a bit short
