My new one coming out next year is called Ruby Red too, haha. Anyway, great tasting beers, highly recommend getting your hands on these. Seriously tasty beer this one @Hoppy81 Can't wait to taste your version.

Shamus O'Sean
1 hour ago, Kegory said: It's pretty close to the bottle version which is 5.2%. The can is 4.7%. It looks like it's based on Orfey's clone recipe which seems to be the flag bearer for Hobgoblin clones. Which yeast are you going to use? Apologies for all the questions, it's one of my favourite all time beers. There's a recipe in the Recipe section here that I'm going to have a crack at next year. I am planning to use Mangrove Jacks M36 Liberty Bell, mostly because I have some in the fridge, saved from a previous brew.

Thanks Shamus. The can is actually 4.5% according to @Pale Man's very clear picture above.
Aussiekraut
Day 1 of the advent calendar. Hops Don’t Lie by Rocky Ridge Brewing. This is a DDDDDDHWCIPA, so I take it they mean a doubledoubledoubledoubledoubledouble hopped West Coast IPA. It has some light hop aromas and on the flavour front, I can pick up bitter, bitter, bitter and bitter. Oh yes, there is also a little bitterness. No other hop flavours. I taste a little oats but that is all. Maybe they should drop a few d’s or change their meaning from double to dry. Not sure who is supposed to like this but I sure as hell don’t. Gimme a beer anytime. Rocky Ridge doesn’t tell us the IBU and what I can find on them Interwebs varies from 33.5 to 65. 1 1 1

Popo the Reprobate
That's a bummer @Aussiekraut. Not a great start. A bit better than mine, though. I got mine through Boozebud and it hasn't even turned up yet. 1
ChairmanDrew
I'm having a Herkenrode Cister... Whats up with strong Belgian ales? Are they really that much different than your typical malt liquor strong lagers?
Aussiekraut
Advent Calendar, day 2. Insane Uncle by Dainton Beer. A run if the mill IPA. Hoppy as expected, nice aromas and fruity flavours, well balanced with a good bitterness and some light malt flavours. This is a lot more pleasant on the palate than yesterday’s offering.

Classic Brewing Co
What do you do when you see a six-pack of these beauties in the bottle'o for $20, normally $26.50 - you buy one of course. Absolutely stunning, all you could want in a beer.

Kegory
It was a big day/night at the Merri Mashers Christmas Party yesterday. There were at least 18, maybe 20 beers on tap plus plenty of bottles doing the rounds. There was also heaps of delicious food. The weather wasn't great but the club's big marquee plus a few smaller ones kept out the rain. There was a door prize of a 25kg bag of Australian Ale Malt and the first 50 people got a 100g packet of Citra hop pellets. I didn't win the door prize and when I left (last to leave) I forgot to grab my bag of hops. It didn't matter as I went back today to help pack up, the party was held just two streets away from my house, and I came away with two bags of hops, some food, and a couple of cans of beer. Bad Shepherd Passionfruit Sour A Molly Rose community brewed IPA
Aussiekraut
Advent Calendar, day 3: Plainsight by Cypher Brewing. A Pilsner but not as we know it. Quite tasty but without the hallmark Pilsner taste.
Hoppy81
Overnight Adelaide trip with the daughter, stopped in to Uncle Dan's, walked out with these, couple of new ones in the mix. About to take the daughter for a swim in the Hotel pool while these beauties cool down in the state of the art mini fridge/freezer.....looks like it's 20yrs old (hopefully they are cold in an hour or so) Cheers all 9

Hoppy81
Well, what can I say about this one....not much, just a great, simple Pale Ale. I'm definitely a fan of U.K beers, not over the top and covered up with 12kg of hops, bravo. Hoppy81
Another easy drinker. I've definitely realised my brewing is brewed around the U.K market without knowing until late. I'm not a Brewer thats over the top with hops, I prefer a clean brewed beer where the malt shines, must be the Pom in me haha. 5

I must say I have tried a lot of those but didn't like that one very much. I seem to favour hop-forward beers.
