PhilboBaggins
[lol] I like how you're thinking, but I'm glad it's you doing the experimenting and not me. I've always wanted to try spices in my beer though, so will be waiting with interest to hear how this one goes. Way to go K. Rudd. [cool]
Hairy
I tried this Lebanese beer recently: 961 Pale Ale It tasted like someone tipped mixed herbs into the bottle. I wasn't expecting it so it caught me by surprise. Not really my thing. The 961 lager and red ale weren't too bad though.
Hairy
Sorry K-Rudd, I didn't really comment on your recipe. I think you may be right about the bitterness so it may be out of balance. Maybe a bit too bitter considering OG and FG. Let us know how it goes.
King Ruddager
Yeah I was hoping the honey would balance that out. Also, the boil was actually a little under 5L - maybe even only 4 - so I wouldn't have got all the bitterness from the hops. Sample seemed ok ... We'll see [cool] Is anyone else game to try it* if I endorse it? * try it = try and build your own, not try one of mine

Otto Von Blotto
I second that. I enjoy the process of all grain too much to go back to mixing kits and bits.. [lol]
Hairy
I have nothing against kits and bits, I'm just not too keen on that recipe [biggrin]
Otto Von Blotto
I have nothing against kits and bits either, just brew days have become an event where I sometimes invite mates over to have a few brews and whatever.. wouldn't be the same just mixing it up in an hour or so. It's gotta take at least 5 hours and have at least one catastrophe in order to be a proper brew day now. [innocent] [lol]
King Ruddager
I still go back to kits for experimentation with weird ingredients, and also just when I'm lazy. This time was both [happy]
