Slopdog
Hey everyone, gonna be making my third brew I got a can of Coopers pale ale, coopers wheat malt and some galaxy hops Was gonna dry hop with about 30g (Just winging it) Does that sound right? Should i steep some or just dry hop. Also, should i use the yeast it comes with or grab something else? I have a left over Mangrove Jacks M44 west coast yeast in the fridge if that would be a better option. Also, another question, in regards to cleaning fermenting gear and bottles, after my first couple brews i just used dish soap, rinsed it like crazy then sprayed it all with starsan. I have some coles brand oxy clean in the laundry, would that be a better option for fermenter and bottle cleaning? Thanks all
DavidM
I would keep it simple for now and Just go with the 30g dry hop and the tin yeast. a few brews in you can step it up a bit more. And have you tried one of your other brews yet. Edited April 7, 2022 by DavidM
Marty_G
100% ditch the tin yeast and use the M44. The rest about the brew sounds great.

I've always just used the Coles or Aldi branded laundry soaker (active ingredient: sodium percarbonate) for clean up. Someone smarter than me suggested it's better than dish soap. I can't remember exactly why but it might have been something to do with cleaning via oxygen rather than whatever is in dish soap.

My first brew i think the yeast died cause it was such a hot week, still tastes good, just a little undercarbonated The second was a mangrove jacks juicy ipa kit, which is where the m44 came from but i swapped that out for kveik, that one tastes great but its really dark for some reason
Red devil 44
Agree with Marty, ditch the tin yeast and go with the M44, the rest of your ingredients will make a nice brew as I used to brew the exact same recipe when I did Kit & Kilo. I just upped the hops to around 80g Galaxy, comes out similar to a Stone & Wood Style Beer. Best of luck @Slopdog
Tone boy
Use the M44. With the wheat and the Galaxy it will be like a pacific ale (like stone & wood) like @Red devil 44reddler suggests Id do a short boil with some Galaxy as well, but maybe keep it simple for now Happy brewing
