MarkC
That’s shameful - for ages our local bottle shop was selling 3 500ml bottles of Weihenstephan beers for $10. They are beers that put most locals to shame, shipped from near Munich to Adelaide, and still cheaper than megaswill; ridiculous!

I just checked prices on a German Liquor Mart website (Orterer Getränke) They offer a crate (20 x 500ml bottles) of Franziskaner Wheat beer for Euro 13,00 which translates into a bottle price of A$ 1,00 !!! A crate of Spaten Lager would work out as A$ 0,75 per bottle. And I personally dislike this move to smaller and smaller bottles here. 345ml or 330ml bottles all for around $50,00 per 24. What's next 290ml bottles ? How lucky we are to be home brewers
Gag Halfrunt
Went down to local pub for dinner last night. Beer $5.30 a pot This equals about $920 per 50 litre keg! I can fill a 50 l keg with a kits and bits brew for about $60.00 and get a better result also. (Pot is 10 oz or 275 ml for you non Victorians)
