Rob (Guinness Man)
Hi everyone, I've done a few Cooper Can Pale Ale and was wondering which hop would and how much would be good to test a dry hopping. The standard Pale Ale recipe is a little light for my taste. Thanks, Rob
Hairy
I reckon Cascade is a nice intro hop and goes well with the pale ale kit. Try 25-30g Cascade dry hop and see how you go. Are there any hops in commercial beers that you like? You could use pretty much anything with this kit.
LagerLover (formerly TimA6
I love a good hoppy pale ale. Do you just sprinkle the dry hops into the FV?
LagerLover (formerly TimA6
My fav pale ales are Little Creatures Pale ALe and James Squire 150 lashes. Would they use cascade hops?
Otto Von Blotto
I brewed an all grain American pale ale that came out quite similar to LCPA, it wasn't intentional however. I used plenty of Cascade in it though so it may well be in their recipe as well. Dry hopping is as easy as drinking the beer. Just throw the pellets into the fermenter. Alternatively, you can hold them in hop bags, chux cloths etc. Personally I use stainless steel tea strainers. But loose or held in something, both methods work. Hairy
I think 150 lashes uses Amarillo, Nelson Sauvin and NZ Willamette.

King Ruddager
My fav pale ales are Little Creatures Pale ALe and James Squire 150 lashes. Would they use cascade hops? Try a Vale Ale pale if you can get your hands on one.
Rob (Guinness Man)
Thanks guys. I have some cascade left so I'll give it a try. I was told you throw it in just after fermenting has finished. How many days should I leave it in?
Otto Von Blotto
Throw them in when you pitch the yeast, throw them in after a couple of days, throw them in after 4 or 5 days, it's up to you. Just leave them there until you bottle it. How long do you normally leave the brew in the fermenter before bottling?
