King Ruddager Posted August 19, 2012 Share Posted August 19, 2012 Decide to lift the lid on my fermenter today to have a sniff and BAM!! Felt like something punched me up the nose. Is that just the carbon dioxide? I was worried that my brew was infected but it seemed to smell ok after that. You give a chance to introduce foreign bacteria and this will turn your brew off. The hit you experienced was C02. I suggest never doing it again.
