Mainiac
Does anybody here use brew software or apps? If so any recommendations?
GrahamB8
I use Beersmith which has absolutely everything, cost me $20 but you can trial it first. Before I started all grain I used to use a website called beertools
Guest
If using kits then go with Ianh's spreadsheet located HERE. If doing AG then Brewmate Both are free and great apps
AdamH1525226084
+1 to IanH's spreadsheet. Brewmate also is good, but can be a little complicated with kits. BeerSmith is pretty good if you want to pay
Hairy
Like Bill, I use IanH's spreadsheets for Kits and Extract brews. But my computer and Brewmate had a serious disagreement [pinched] Nothing against Brewmate; I think my nerd box had a few other issues and Brewmate sent it over the edge. So I use Beersmith for Partials and (soon to be) AG. I wouldn't say it is the simplest program to use though.

Guest
Mate, it is worth registering..... AHB has a lot of great info on it and is a huge reference point. A lot of great experienced brewers there who are more than happy to share information.

Beersmith has more features then all the spreadsheets put to together. Worth every cent. Fully customisable to your equipment, ingredients including water details etc.. has everything. Has all the brewing calculators etc built in.
Mainiac
Just downloaded the sheet and I am very impressed.
Muddy Waters
I could never quite work out how to use Beersmith properly but as I don't all grain it isn't an issue. I am happy sticking to extract brewing as I live in a shoebox and haven't the room to store any extra equipment. Ian's spreadsheet more than suits my needs [cool]
Mainiac
I downloaded the beersmith trial and it definitely looks like it is geared towards AG
