Ausski
Can anyone suggest what has happened and how to avoid it in the furture? I brewed a coopers Mexican Cerveza and it has finished with a colour not to dissimilar to the contents of the original can extracts????
Tone boy
Next time check the use by date. Liquid extract gets darker as it ages, so the fresher kits will be a lighter colour.
Kegory
You know @Ausski Mexican Dark Lagers are a thing. You can tell people it's a Modelo Negra clone. Only joking. Listen to @Tone boy.
Marty_G
It maybe oxidized. How did you brew it?

Classic Brewing Co
I have brewed it over the years without issue, it has always turned out very nice, light, zesty & a great summer drink. I bottled some in Corona bottles once & it was always a winner.

It may have been an older Can. Good luck with your next brew
Micci
Storing the can at a higher temperature accelerates the maillard effect, making the colour darken a bit faster. I wouldn't worry too much though. As long as the yeast isn't affected. I always chuck my yeast sachets directly in the fridge. Better there than under the lid.
