It just estimates the ABV based on how much sugar/malt etc is added to a kit can. It might be of use to some. I don't bother using the hydrometer as a rule and just want to know the approximate ABV. I based this on info from the various recipes and past measurements. It includes the use of sugar to carbonate the beer in bottles.
