Final gravity

I am struggling to get my final gravity below 1010 after about 7 - 8 days which results in lower alc volume. How can i improve this?

If you are after higher ABV, then add more fermentables to start with.  1010 is a pretty good FG.

What Shamus said. Alternatively you can use a kilo of sugar but it makes a pretty shit beer. Increasing the OG with more malt will bring the ABV up and taste better too.

There's a lot of variables that can affect your SG. 
As Shamus wrote above, if you add more fermentables you'll get a higher OG but if you add something like dextrose that ferments into alcohol you will get a lower FG than if you added malt. Malt doesn't fully ferment out so your FG will be higher but your beer will probably taste better and have more head and body.
You could add less water. This would also increase your ABV.
