McFrankel
Can anyone help with natural colouring ideas? I was looking at making a Maroon Ale to celebrate the success of Queensland winning their 6th consecutive series last night [devil] . I was thinking perhaps a fruit extract of some type perhaps pommegrante etc.
Hairy
Sorry, I can't (and don't want to) help you with that.[devil] I suggest you make a blue beer and condition it for 12 months. It should be perfect for next years celebration.
Muddy Waters
The main ingredient of a Maroon Beer are the blood, sweat and tears of New South Welshmen [crying]
BenL8
mark i did some looking around and cane toads seem to be a good additive to really bring out the flavour and colour [bandit]
Muddy Waters
Mark - Also keep in mind you will require an extended fermentation for this beer as Maroons are a bit slow. If bottling you may find they come up a few short of a six pack [bandit]
Squishy
You will also need to boil a heap of POR for 60 min and add sand to eack bottle with your priming sugar....... To make it bitter and hard to swallow, just like being a NSWelshman living in QLD after 6 straight losses[crying] [crying] [crying] [crying] [crying] [crying] [crying]

BakersAle
If you add blue and red food dye you might end up with a bruised blue be a sweet taste in the end

BrentW2
You may also find that it will pack an unexpected punch. You could name it after Sam Thaiday.[devil] You mean something like "Third man in a punch up Ale" or "The most punchable face in the NRL ale" Actually that last one goes to Billy Slater
