EWildcat7
Hello I have some crystal malt grains that were cracked about 2 years ago. They have been in an airtight sealed container and in the fridge that whole time. Are they still ok to use? thanks!
Popo the Reprobate
They might be ok to use if they have been sealed up. If they are still crunchy and taste ok you could probably use them. My lhbs sells cracked grain. Before I got a mill, I stored it for several months in an airtight container and it was still ok. 2 years is a bit of another question though, I guess. Taste a bit and see how they are.

Hairy
2 years for crushed grain is a long time. If it hasn't been vacuum sealed then there will probably be some staling. However, as the others above mentioned, if it is crunchy then it should be fine. Especially when using it in small amounts as additions to beer rather than large quantities as an integral part of the recipe.
