Derelict impurity
I'm doing a Mexican cervaza brew ( third brew ) Its day 4 and I've been doing a hydrometer test everyday ( I was suspicious it might get infected and wanted to be safe) Day one sp. Gravity was 1038 Day 2 gravity was 1030 Day 3 was 1013 And now day 4 is 1012 Maybe I should just wait. Thoughts?
Derelict impurity
I don't really know how yeast works but I noticed when I added the yeast most puffed up and fell down to the bottom I'm not sure if that means it died or if they just chill out at the bottom digesting sugars. Stickers
i'm just about to start my second batch and the thing i learned the most from the first one is don't even bother even taking a reading if there's any foam on top, even residual
Naughty Corner Brewing
Hey there DI. Looking like everything normal with that. I usually don’t bother touching it for the first 4 days. looks like everything is functioning as expected. I’d probably kick the temp up a couple of degrees now for a Diacetyl rest if you have that available. But I think you’re pretty good.
Lab Cat
It's almost done, depending on the ingredients used, it will probably finish around 1.010. No point in taking a daily reading whilst fermenting. Most beers take maybe 24hrs to foam up, then might be fermented out in 2-3 days. A reading at day 4 tells you where it's at, and if you can control temp and increase it a bit, that will help ensure it finishes. Then reading at day 6-7. It's done when the reading is the same over 2 days.
