Krausen kollar

Can the collar stay on for the whole duration of the fermentation. The video shows to remove after 3 days but surely this could increase the chance of wild yeast or contamination.

Yes.

I find it is only necessary when doing very high ABV brews or dark beers that will create a very tall Krausen.

All my lagers/ales I ferment without the Kollar.
