MitchBastard
Got this receipe for a NEIPA I want to give a go (see pic) . My question is in regards to the “dried wheat”. Would that be dried wheat extract, the powder? Or would it be wheat malt, the grain? Changes and tweaks welcomed...
Otto Von Blotto
It would be dry wheat malt extract.

Otto Von Blotto
Yeah but it will need to be mashed first.
Hairy
Also wheat malt extract is usually a blend of wheat and barley; around 50/50. When mashing wheat malt it is best do mash it with a barley base malt so that should work well.
Hairy
Just to clarify, it isn’t because malted wheat doesn’t have sufficient diastatic power, it’s just wheat on its own is a soggy mess. Probably ok if using a bag and can squeeze it.
