BakersAle
Hello brewers, I tried a stout years ago and didnt like the taste of it. I have got few buddies who like the odd stout now and again wondering for a good ole recipe that everyone be impressed with thank you for your help Allan
King Ruddager
Why not start with the basic recipe on the can as a starting point? Having said that, a lot of people here go on about the "toucan" stout, although I've never tried it myself. There's a discussion about it here ... basically it's a tin of stout plus a tin of dark ale and a whole load of increasingly good times.
Nick
G'day Allan, as Ruddy says, keep it simple and work out your improvements from there, the Irish Stout as per the "how to brew" is very nice, i bottled it over a month ago for drinking while watching the boxing day test, but i dont think there willmbe any left. i bottled an English Stout 2 weeks ago and have just had a go at one, very nice and will improve with bottle age, have alook at both recipes, the Irish is a bit drier, so the English Stout may suit your tastes if you are not a real stout fan. dont be put off by the fuggles addition, it is very easy. good luck with it mate, whatever you decide on[happy]
GregT5
Allan, the stout that Ruddager linked to in his post is a winner. Read the thread for a bit of info. I have made this one twice & it is a great, easy brew. You won't be disappointed.
