Snags
Hey guys, I'm going to put this down tomorrow, as I'm keen to start my venture into brewing a beer similar in style to a Polish Porter. . . hopefully[annoyed] Coopers Dark Ale 1kg Dark Dry Malt 500g Light Dry Malt 200g Briess Victory Malt (30 min steep) 100g Dark Chocolate Malt (30 min steep) 25g Saaz (15 min) 10g Saaz (dry hop) US-05 yeast, 23L water. Unsure as to whether i'll add 200g lactose aswell. I want a smooth, malty brew, with a smooth bitterness. . . also unsure if I'd rather use Weyermann Rye Caramel Malt (which I have also) in place of the Briess Victory Malt (or both in smaller amounts). . . [pinched] Any other suggestions? Cheers, Mick.

TonyW
Interested to know how this turns out. Have to hit up some polish styles myself for winter drinking.
Snags
Will let you know Tony. I'm considering putting the same brew down with the OS Stout aswell, just to see how that turns out. . .
Snags
Ok, going to put this down next. I'm going to try using the TC Pilsener as a base, because the hops etc are closer to the style, so this may well flop, but hell I'm keen to find out anyway. . ..[annoyed] Porter Experiment #2 TC Pilsener 750g Dark Dry Malt 500g Light Dry Malt 250g Briess Munich Malt (30 min steep) 200g Weyermann Rye Caramel Malt (30 min steep) 100g Dark Chocolate Malt (30 min steep) 50g Roasted Malt (30 min steep) 200g Lactose 50g Northern Brewer or Perle (30 min) 25g Saaz (15 min) 25g Hallertau (10 min) 10g Saaz (dry hop) 10g Hallertau (dry hop) US-05, 23L water. If it works, I'll call it a Pilsnorter! [joyful] [lol] Well, I'll see what happens I suppose. . . [rightful]
