NathanW9
Been in fermenter for a week now, well after the volcano settled down:) But have a FG of 1011/12?? Thought with the 1kg of dex it would be around the 1014/15 area? This issue aside wow it tastes great!!
Nick
Hi Nathan, dex is fully fermentable so it wont increase the FG. Had you thrown in a blend such as BE1 or 2 the maltodex would have increased the FG. 1011/1012 sounds right to me
ArthurW2
Hello nathan my 3rd brew was actually one of these which i bottled only a few weeks ago. My FG was exactly 1011 didnt take a OG reading though but finished bang on what you are saying. Wont know about how taste for at least another 3 to 4 months before i start to try as i understand darker heavier beers need more time to mature properly. Cheers Arthur
Otto Von Blotto
I brewed one last year, it's been in the bottles 6 months now I think, I just tasted one at 2 weeks, one month, and then each month after that. Anyway my OG and FG were 1062 and 1011 which gave an ABV of 7.1%[w00t] 1011-1012 sounds fine mate.
PhilboBaggins
I might even break my AG run to put one of these on, as I hear so many rave reviews about it. Am I right in thinking it's an OS Stout + OS Dark + 1KG Dex? Don't reckon I could bring myself to make it without some chocolate malt and Windsor yeast though.
