So i have an IPA in the FV with 40g in 4 tea balls. its ready to bottle and i am keen to get a stout on as soon as possible but i hvae a fridge i can cold crash in. should i wait the few days and cold crash the IPA' date=' give it until sunday in the fridge at 4 or 5 degrees??? i dont want to rack or anything to clear the fv[/quote']

If it is finished and ready to bottle then start cold crashing now and bottle on Sunday.

Just remember that cold crashing is nice but it isn't the be all and end all. Your beer will clear up in the bottle given time. Crash chillling just gives it a head start and will (hopefully) result in a little less sediment in the bottle.

So if you are really keen to get the stout into that FV then you could do that.

Once again, thank-you Gentlemen.

The info and advice here is second to none.

One of the old fellas at work has been brewin' for over twenty years and has never hopped, temp controlled, played with sugars or yeast. In fact he hardly knew what I was talking about.

You guys have given me an awesome head start to making good beer.
