AdrianG4
Hi all, I'm after a bit of advice if anyone can help? I've recently purchased my first brewing kit (coopers australian lager). I started the brew 10 days ago, followed all the instructions apart from taking the original gravity. The lager has been brewing at around 18 degrees (cold house) and i've taken a reading over the past 2 days and it has been the same reading of 1014. Would it be safe to bottle now or wait a couple more days? Any advice would be great. Adrian
Hairy
It looks like it is pretty much done. The lager kit with BE1 in 23 litres should give you an FG close to that. More than likely it finished days ago and the yeast have sent the last few days cleaning up after themselves. I would bottle it. It's your first brew and it is ready to go so no need to wait. Extra time in the FV will not harm it, in fact it will do it good, but if it was my first brew I would want to get it bottled. Also, 18 degrees is perfect. You are one of the lucky ones that can brew in ambient tems and sit on 18 degrees [cool]
