Hairy Posted October 6, 2012 Share Posted October 6, 2012 An extract just means it has been extracted from something. A wort is evaporated and/ or spray dried to make malt extract. It still contains sugar but mostly more complex sugar like maltose. Honey contains more simple sugar like fructose and glucose.
