Wayne (Captain Yobbo)
Just a query i was wondering for my next batch i was going to make a hop tea boil for around 10 - 15 mins but once that is done should i just throw the hops into the FV with the tea i mean leave the hops loose I was wondering if it will clog my bottler or should i discard the hops I dry hopped my sparkling ale with a chux cloth but im not sure if you can boil a chux cloth cheers
HowieH
When I make hop tea I boil the hops in a piece of muslin,( cheaper than those 12g hop teabags ) tip the tea into the FV and throw the muslin/hops away. I buy muslin from Lincraft, from memory its $3 - $6 a square metre, so it goes a long way. Saves the bottling extension on the FV tap from getting clogged or stuck open. Works for me. Guest
Why not use w strainer and combine it with the rest of your hot liquids? Make a dme boil, add hops, strain liquid Easy
Otto Von Blotto
+1 to Yob. I do my malt/hops boil and then pour it through a strainer into the FV and throw the hops out in the yard somewhere[lol]
