DaveM13
HELP! I was brewing the Dark Ale kit three days ago and asked my brother to add 200g of melted chocolate chips to the wort to enhance the flavor. I was horrified to find out today that he had added milk chocolate chips, not dark chocolate. Assuming the brew is tainted, is there anything I can do to save it? More yeast? Extra carbonation drops? ANYTHING??
PB2
The horse has bolted [pinched] Have a smell and a taste once it has finished fermenting. Then make the decision to bottle or tip it.
Hairy
This may be a tragedy; beer AND chocolate may have been wasted[crying] Two of my favourite vices (If only they could invent chocolate beer flavoured ice cream[love] ) I think it is time to find a new brewing assistant. Guest
You really need to taste it Dave then make a decision. You don't know, he may have created the worlds best beer!!.... I would be interested if you would post your thoughts here when you do taste it..... It may not go too well in a dark ale but maybe a light lager would be nice??? DaveM13
Thanks for the advice, especially the bit about getting a new brew partner. I'll get back to the forum in a few weeks and let you know how things turned out...here's hoping it's the best damn beer in the world!
