Mainiac
I just brewed my first batch today and I want to buy supplies for the next batch. In the hall of beer it says some beers you spin, roll or etc... Why? Doesn't this stir up the yeast?
PB2
Welcome to the Order, Dennis! With most of our naturally conditioned ales (secondary fermented in the bottle, like the brew you are making), it's a bit of a tradition to mix the yeast through the beer before serving into a glass or drinking from the bottle. The yeast is good for you, assuming you don't have an allergy to it [innocent] That said, there are plenty of drinkers who prefer to decant off the yeast. As an experiment - to see how the yeast makes a difference - try a side-by-side tasting of the same brew with one decanted into a glass and the other served cloudy. Guest
Yeast also claims to give a lot of people wind [bandit] No problems here and I don't usually worry about it.
