hydrometer problems ?

just put down a canadian blonde std recipe no add extras lol still have L plates on temp 24c and my OG was 1340,my last batch bottled today was Australian pale ale OG 1355 fg1005 which gives it an abv of 47% it smells and tastes fine any hints on the OG.

Wow 47%! Just drink a bottle and you'll know if it's right or not [biggrin] . Either your hydrometer is broken or your reading it wrong i reckon.

 

Edit: My pale ale OG was 1039

my master brewer mate just rang and yes im reading it wrong thanks dave and ps Lplates off on sat when we attempt a vitage ale im looking forward to this one

The End Of History was the world's strongest beer at 55% but is no longer available. Actually you would have been very lucky to get one of these heart stoppers and most likely no hope now.

 

Now the world's strongest beer is Sink The Bismark at 41%.

 

47% would be a fine drop but somehow doesn't seem quite right [bandit]
