MitchBastard
Going bitter and flavour my Pilsner tomorrow just using Saaz. in beer Smith I’m at 35ibu which is where I want it with a 90, 30 and wp with amounts of 40,40 and 20g Will this be giving it to much hop character? Should I ditch the late additions and just go for a bigger bitter amount? Thank ya
Worthog
@MitchBastard I'm drinking my Landrace Lager which was "bittered" with 10g Simcoe, which I assume brought no flavour/aroma to it, but the rest was 20g SAAZ@5m and 20g@FO. No other late or dry hopping. This is Lager, not Pilsner, (s23) but close, given the lengthy and meticulous process, is the best of my 96 brews. You will never get over-characterisation with SAAZ, but you will get a taste that wonderfully lingers in the recesses of your mouth, and keeps you coming back. Late boil. No Dry, perhaps? MitchBastard
Cheers @Worthog I wasn’t planning on dry hopping. Just boil additions.
Otto Von Blotto
Nope, I used 60/70/40/30 over FWH, 80 minutes, 15 minutes and flameout on my latest one. To 46 IBUs.
