Simon 1525230220
Hi All Wanted to get some feedback on a toucan stout recipe that I am planning to put down. 1 can OS stout 1 can OS dark ale 500g LDM 300g choc malt (steeped 30 mins) 100g black patent malt (steeped 30 mins) 2 kit yeasts rehydrated. Ive done the above but without the black patent malt. Im hoping to add more depth of flavour by adding in the black patent malt this time. Happy to hear anyone’s thoughts. Cheers Simon
Otto Von Blotto
I don't see anything wrong with adding the black patent, but not sure how noticeable 100g will be in that recipe. Probably a good amount to start off with though, if it's not enough at least the beer will still be a nice beer, too much might not taste as nice. The Captain!!
I’m with Kelsey on this one. I think it’s a good start. If it’s not enough for your tastes adjust for the next brew. Or you could cold steep for a different character to that grain Good luck with the brew. Captain
