Robbie
thanks for that tip,how often does the tap seal need oiling, when its noted to be dry or each brew do you think?
porschemad911
G'day Robbie, For me those 2 scenarios occur at the same time. So every time you put the fermenter back together after cleaning / drying, pop a bit of olive oil onto the tap seal before popping it back into the fermenter. Cheers, John
headmaster
+ 1 for that, I smear a tiny bit of olive oil that I have handy in a glass jar, every time I use these fermenting vessels. So that's either for fermenting or as a bottling vessel. Stops leaks, and makes assembly and disassembly easy, plus the small amount of olive oil is very good for yeast health and during the cell propagation stage.
