The Brew Master
Hi Paul, I read in one of the other threads that it is recommended to leave bottles of European Lager for 12 weeks before drinking. How long would you suggest I leave a keg to naturally condition? Cheers, Peter
PB2
If you are using the recipe of Euro + BE2 to 23 litres and kit yeast, fermented at 13C-15C it may only need 6 weeks.
The Brew Master
Thank's Paul, I will see how it goes in 6 weeks. Cheers, Peter
housecat
I brewed this beast back in November and due to work commitments was unable to drink it until march. It was stored in my keg for a bit over 3 months and was one of the best tasting brews i have made to date. Wish i had made a double batch as it all went in just under two weeks :( Paul
AussieJosh
housecat....how did you keep your brewing temps low enough to brew european Lager in November??? I will be putting down my first EL in about a week so its ready for drinking in September for my birthday! :D
housecat
I don't usually worry about that sort of thing  The way I see it, as long as the temp doesn't go above 20 - 24 degrees, I'm a happy camper. I like to keep it as simple as possible. If I started to worry about temp controlling and different yeasts etc, I'd prob go back to buying cartons. :(

Luke
Hi Josh, I bought a mashmaster temp controller off Country Brewer for about $50. It runs my old beer fridge and keeps the temp stable no probs at all! I use it to run a heat belt as well. Just get a sparky mate "wink, wink, nod, nod!" to wire it up for ya.
