BrockOhopter
Hey Guys, Just after a bit of advice [unsure] Im making a TC Traditional Draught - a mid strength due to regular early morning breath tests at work [annoyed] 1x TC Draught can. 500g LDM 120g crystal S23 Lager yeast OG 1.029 24Ltr. Yeast pitched @ 20deg C, then into temp controlled fridge @ 14deg C. Has been in there for 10 days & I have just recorded a 3rd consecutive hydrometer reading of 1.010 from 3 days testing. I would have thought my FG would be more like 1.001 or similar, I don't think it's done yet. I have the Brew mate program, but it doesn't include hopped Malt extract cans.. All help greatly appreciated!
Hairy
I'm glad my work doesn't do morning breath tests, my breath smells terrible [innocent] Anyway, I reckon the FG of your beer will be much closer to 1010 than 1001. I think it is done. Are you sure you were expecting 1001 or did you transpose some numbers? If you are using Brewmate you may be able to choose an unhopped malt extract and then enter a 60 minute hop addition to give the can IBU.
Guest
According to calculations and assuming your recipe was to 23L then 1.010 is bang on the money. Bottle it up and crack 'em in a few weeks. I am sure they'll be fine. PS. you really wouldn't want to finish at 1.001 it'd be almost like water. Sure you haven't got the decimal point in the wrong spot?
