weggl
Was about to make another of my famous Pale Yak, only to discover i did not have 1.3 Kg of DLME, but i did have 1.5 Kg of Coopers Amber Malt Extract, so I used it. The recipe now is. CAN COOP PALE ALE 1.5Kg COOPERS AMBER MALT 100 DEX 20 CASCADE 15 MIN -20 NELSON 10 MIN 15 NELSON FO-2 PACKETS COOPERS YEAST 23 L I figured that the Amber might make it a little sweet so increased the 20g of Cascade from 10 min to 15 min hoping to counteract the extra sweetness. What doyareckon? PS. Where is Muddy?[crying] OK I've found him[love]
Muddy Waters
I like a bit of amber in my "Inspired by yak but with more flavour" beers and it works a treat but I usually use about 1/2 a tin. I think yours may be a tad sweet for my tastes but I having said that I reckon it'll still be pretty good.
jasond4
Just out of curiosity what Coopers yeast did you use?
weggl
Thanks Muddy. Jason, was out of Coopers cultured yeast so I used US-05. My first one was Coopers cultured and it had 1.3 LDME and the Cascade was boiled for 10 min.A very nice beer.
