Trusty1
G'day everyone, Would a Stout + Lager (Euro or whatever) toucan give up something similar, or even close to a Bock (or doppleBock)? Or, would the stout just be too 'big' for it and take over? I have a Coopers Original stout kit, and probably have enough stout for now, and would like to do something a little different. Other ingredients at my disossal include: 1kg Brewcaft Cracked Light Grain (Six Row Malted Lager Grain), 0.5kg Brewcraft Cracked Wheat Grain, 15g Saaz finishing Hops, approx 35g EKGoldings Hops, 0.5kg LDM 1kg Dextrose 0.5kg Coopers brewing sugar and a soon to be available saflager yeastcake! Any tips/advice gladly accepted. Thanks in advance!
Trusty1
And Muddy - I wasn't suggesting putting it all in the tub together![pinched]
Kearnage
You mean throwing everything you have available into the tub is not a good plan?! Damn, I may have to re-think my approach.[pinched]
Muddy Waters
And Muddy - I wasn't suggesting putting it all in the tub together![pinched] [lol] I wasn't going to say anything Trusty [lol] It did remind me that I have to renew my search for a Paulaner Salvator recipe though. Never had much luck so far.
Trusty1
I've read up on the Bocks/Doppel Bocks and think the Stout might be too bitter. I guess I can just do it and enjoy the result, and call it a DoppelBock. The beer police won't lock me up, will they?[rightful][rightful] [rightful] [rightful] I could call it something like a Trustator! Would adding the Saaz (dry or otherwise?) do anything positive for the brew? BTW - I picked up a third fermenter today! No excuses now! It did remind me that I have to renew my search for a Paulaner Salvator recipe though. Never had much luck so far. I think the recipe for the Salvator includes 1kg Brewcaft Cracked Light Grain (Six Row Malted Lager Grain), 0.5kg Brewcraft Cracked Wheat Grain, 15g Saaz finishing Hops, approx 35g EKGoldings Hops, 0.5kg LDM 1kg Dextrose 0.5kg Coopers brewing sugar and a soon to be available saflager yeastcake! with a Coopers original Stout kit and Euro Lager[lol] [lol] [bandit]

Trusty1
[biggrin] [bandit] I need a bulk priming vessle! When I only had 2 tubs I had them both full. Bottled an Ale Monday and a toucan lager Wednesday. Put an Irish Ale down Thursday, will be putting PB2's Real/pale toucan down when I reculture some yeast. I guess I can something like a dark ale or a draught while I wait for the yeast to multiply[biggrin] [bandit] [w00t]! I could have three going at once by the end of the week! does anyone have 90 clean sterile bottles ready to rumble????[whistling][cool][bandit] [ninja] [kissing] [innocent] [joyful] [biggrin] [lol] [roll] [rightful] [alien]
