LagerLover (formerly TimA6
Opened another bottle tonight and there was fizz!!!! [biggrin] Nice head and the flavour was good as well! Not fantastic, but good and enjoyable. Happy. I have a friend that home brews and he doesn't use the coopers carbonation drops. He uses caster sugar. He thinks it's better - he thinks it produces a creamier head? Does it make a difference?
Otto Von Blotto
I don't know really. I think the head is more influenced by ingredients (grains etc) and time in the bottles rather than what you prime with. My English ale forms a nice creamy head and it was primed with dextrose. Over the years using different sugars I noticed no difference in carbonation or head quality. I did have issues with honey and do not recommend using it as you never know what you are going to get carbonation-wise.
