LDME vs. brew enhancers or sugars

G'day

i have just purchased half a dozen kilos of light dried malt extract from a not so local HBS with the intent of using the LDME only with the cans ie 1.7kg can + 1kg LDME. is this correct or do I need to add some form of sugar as well, like a dextrose or maltodextrose, BE?

cheers

Russ

Hey Russell,

at Coopers Brewery, we use liquid sugar (sucrose) to prime our naturally conditioned ales because it's the most convenient ingredient for handling purposes with predictable carbonation levels.[cool]

From trials we have performed in the laboratory - 1kg of sucrose (dry) is equal to about 1.1kg to 1.2kg of dextrose.
